OUR STORY

Monster Mac Snacks is a family-owned and operated snack truck business. Our business was established in 2025 to provide meaningful employment for Mac, an individual with Autism. As a North Carolina resident, Mac has a 10-15% chance of securing employment. Our family has been fortunate to switch roles as primary caregivers to Mac. Mac’s Dad, Damon, is a 30-year Marine veteran, no stranger to creating positive solutions to challenging situations.  Mac’s mom, Rosie, is a licensed mental health counselor who gives back to the Camp Lejeune/New River communities, supporting active-duty service members and their families.   Our years in Onslow County have established a strong network of friends, business leaders, partners, and supporters integral to our success. Our combined experience and optimistic vision for our son can’t be matched. We aim to set an example and provide inspiration for other families as they navigate their special needs child’s transition into adulthood.

OUR name

We have always created inclusive opportunities for Mac by keeping him abreast and engaged in all our family activities. While researching ideas for our business, we came across numerous examples of food trucks. Upon discovering a truck with cartoon-style monsters, Mac showed an interest in the design. Mac’s favorite book is “There Is a Monster at the End of This Book, “ and he is a lifelong fan of Sesame Street. We decided on the direction for our new business name, Monster Mac Snacks.
